A former division 1 college football player, Chef Will Spencer competed on the NBC television show Food Fighters where he defeated some of the best chefs in the world. To get there he outperformed thousands of other home cooks from all over the country.
Prior to cooking professionally, Spence worked in the fitness industry and has 14 years of professional fitness and nutrition experience.
Spence focuses on healthy and locally sourced meals that are as nourishing as they are delicious.
Spence is a native Washingtonian who attended Archbishop Carroll high school and received a football scholarship to Syracuse University. Spence finished his playing career at Jackson State University and went on to work in law enforcement. After realizing this was not his path Spence went back to school and graduated from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. After a stint at ESPN Radio 980 Spence found his fit in the fitness Industry. Over a career that spanned 14 years he worked as a certified personal trainer, sales manager and general manager before leveraging that experience into an appearance on the NBC television program FOOD FIGHTERS. Spence took culinary courses at the Art Institute of Las Vegas and completed his personal chef certification with the IAPC and continuing his culinary education with American Culinary Federation. He is known for flavorful and approachable takes on soul food classics.
